2019 GOLDEN GLOBES
A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
It was tipped to be a night of surprises – and the 2019 Golden Globes did not disappoint. Not only did Bohemian Rhapsody clean up, but there were plenty of interesting moments along the way.
The ceremony was presided over by Adam Samberg and Sandra Oh, and the goofy duo had the audience in hysterics.
There were outbursts from Emma Stone and Lady Gaga, who lost the Best Actress award to Glenn Close (for her role in The Wife). Steve Carrell and Patricia Arquette couldn’t help but let slip a few curses, while Jeff Bridges gave the most bizarre speech about boats.
But the controversies started as early on as the red carpet, with Chrissy Metz allegedly calling Alison Brie a “bitch” (which she denied) and the Fiji Water Girl photobombing everyone.
During the ceremony, surprises came when Maya Rudolph jokingly proposed to her co-star Amy Poehler and Christian Bale thanked Satan for giving him inspiration to play Dick Cheney in Vice.
The stars let their hair down at the afterparties. From sipping champagne to dancing the night away, it was a glittering and memorable affair.
