MEGHAN’S $ 9 MILLION PLAN
Amid rumours Meghan is struggling to cope with life as a royal, insiders reveal that the Duchess of Sussex is on the hunt for a secret bolthole she can escape to when the pressure gets too much.
“Meghan is really struggling with all the public backlash against her and all the negativity she’s copping at the moment,” says a palace source. “But it’s the stress of Christmas and the tension with Kate and William that has really tipped her over the edge.”
Those close to the pregnant 37-year-old reveal the former actress had no idea her life as a royal would be so challenging.
Now, rumours are swirling that she’s so desperate to retain an element of normality in that she is seriously considering taking up a $6 million offer to make a return to Suits. The money would go to charity.
“The truth is she’s finding being a royal a lot harder than she thought and being pregnant as well, she’s just not coping,” continues the source.
“She had no idea that her problems with Kate and her fights with the staff would come back to haunt her so badly.
“Meghan feels like she needs to find a place to escape the pressures of royal life and all the hardships she’s encountering – she just wants a little piece of her old life – somewhere she can just be Meghan and not a duchess, especially once she has the baby.”
As a result, the stressed-out royal has been considering the option of buying a place in her old home town of Toronto and has been looking at real estate.
While this is an unusual step for a member of the royal family – and Harry knows it would be frowned upon by senior royals – the besotted prince is said to want to do anything to make his wife happy even though he’s heartbroken she wants to escape.
Last week, Lady Colin Campbell also backed up the insider’s claims saying: “Everything I hear is that Harry is completely beguiled by Meghan and completely enthralled to her and has changed considerably.”
Insiders say Meghan already has her eye on a stylish, modern $3 million home close to the city’s Designers Walk area. With clean contemporary lines, the luxury pad would offer the duchess a sanctuary, and a slice of her past life.
“Harry hates seeing her so stressed and unhappy and just wants to turn things around, and if spending time in Canada and away from palace life will do it, then he’s happy to give it a go.”
