OUR RESIDENT VET, DR MARGIE ROSER, ANSWERS ALL YOUR ANIMAL QUESTIONS

New Idea - - New Pets -

Q How often should I be de-worming my dog? MARGERY SAVILL, A RICHMOND, NSW. Dogs should be wormed every three months with an allwormer for intestinal worms. Try to do it at the change of season so it’s easy to remember. Heartworm prevention can be monthly or you can get a yearly injection. Puppies need worming more frequently, starting with every two weeks until they’re 3 months old, monthly until they’re 6 months old, then three-monthly for life. Try a chewable wormer and your pup will think it’s a treat!
