THE SONGSTRESS REVEALS HER TIPS AND TRICKS TO GET IN SHAPE
She spent the festive season soaking up the sunshine at a private villa in beautiful Byron Bay with her boyfriend Matthew Copley and a handful of close friends.
Now, New Idea can reveal the secret behind Delta Goodrem’s incredible bikini body, which she proudly displayed during her recent getaway after shedding some weight and spending time working on her muscle tone prior to the holiday season.
“I’m a clean-living girl,” Delta previously revealed of her health and fitness regime during an interview with lifestyle website Rescu.
“It doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy a glass of wine and a dance and it doesn’t mean that I don’t eat chocolate. I would say that I’m a healthy-living person.”
For breakfast, Delta says she has a super smoothie every morning, which consists of kale, almonds, dates, coconut and flax seeds. This is then followed by some form of exercise.
“I go to the gym – I love the gym. I enjoy it,” the 34-year-old adds. “If I don’t go to the gym, I might do a hip-hop class that
week or go to Bikram yoga in an afternoon sometime.”
For lunch, it’s a simple tuna salad and salmon for dinner.
“Then I have these chocolate protein balls that curb my sweet cravings.”
With a hectic work schedule, Delta, who will return as a coach on The Voice Australia this year, is the first to admit that it’s not always so easy to keep on track.
“I am all about everything in moderation,” she told Marie Claire, adding she usually gains around five kilos whenever she is recording or on tour.
“I’ve never been disciplined enough to say, ‘I’m not going to have that snack.’
“But I love healthy food too. If you put healthy food in front of me, I’ll eat it. If you put junk food in front of me, I’ll eat that too.
“But I do enjoy fuelling my body with healthy things. It’s about being conscious of what your body’s telling you.”
Meanwhile, it seems Matthew is loving Delta’s new-found confidence. In fact, the handsome musician couldn’t take his eyes off her as she frolicked in the couple’s private plunge pool.
The pair’s dip in the pool came just days after they had taken to social media to share their first official photo together – sparking rumours that they had secretly tied the knot in a bohemian-themed celebration in Newrybar, just outside Byron Bay in the rolling hinterlands.
“So glad you have found happiness and married the man of your dreams,” one follower commented on the loved-up snap.
“You two are gorgeous,” wrote another.
