DELTA'S DIVA DEMANDS

-

With production of the new season of The Voice under way, producers are looking to change things up. They want past champions to compete against former TV stars, reality and other singing show contestants, and fresh talent to revitalise the show and bring a new raft of fans.

It makes sense to breathe new life into a tired format but not to long-time coach Delta Goodrem.

“She has been trying to recruit the other coaches to go to producers and executives to complain about bringing back established singers and others from rival singing shows,” dishes our spy, adding the 34-year-old is back to her old tricks.

“She basically now thinks she is producing the show, which isn’t sitting well with some on set. Fellow coaches Guy Sebastian and Boy George are rolling their eyes and will not be a part of it.”

The actress and singer, who recently purchased a $4.8 million apartment in Sydney for her and rocker boyfriend Matthew Copley to call home, may be trying to assert herself after moving back to Australia after many years in LA.

But if Delta is feeling threatened by the changes the producers are planning, “they are actually doing it not only for her benefit but for the benefit of everyone that works on the show”, says the insider.

“Delta doesn’t realise that in bringing back these faces, the network is trying to save and revitalise a flagging show, and her gravy train.”
