You’re the new ambassador for Botanicals by L’oréal Paris – what excites you about the role?
I think for me the ethos of the Botanicals brand is very much aligned with what I believe and how I aim to live my life, so I am really proud to be on board with the team. I really love that all the products and packaging are 100 per cent recycled material and it is 100 per cent recyclable after you use it. It’s really important to leave that positive footprint in this day and age, and a lot of people are becoming more aware of it. Also, all of our hero products in the range are derived from plant and seed extracts, which is something I like to incorporate into my day-to-day life anyway.
You have a focus on inner health and clean eating. Is it also important for you to choose natural beauty products?
Absolutely, I think the catalyst for that was definitely when I was pregnant with Violet. I was thinking more about what am I putting onto my body? What am I consuming? And you know, what are my stress levels like? And what kind of effect is that having on my body and my children? So for me it is of absolute importance and something that I look into more and more every day.
What’s your tip for keeping your hair healthy and achieving easy styles?
It’s hard isn’t it? I think it’s about keeping your hair in good condition, so it’s maintaining with those treatments every four to six weeks. I get my trim every six to eight weeks or whenever I can manage, but it’s a timely thing as well – we don’t want to be spending too much time maintaining, so that’s why I like the Botanicals treatments in between.
Since becoming a mum, how has your approach to beauty changed?
Oh a lot! It’s definitely become a lot more easy and simple. I have minimal products in my cupboard and in my beauty bag so I try and keep it as simple as

possible. Of course on days that I’m working, hair and makeup artists have got, you know, their full kit with them but when I have my days off I want my skin to breathe and I try to get as much goodness back into my skin and into my hair as possible. I’m just sort of taking it easy and using minimal products.
Do you have any favourite beauty treatments that you do?
Every six to eight weeks I get a facial at a clinic here in Sydney called Jocelyn Petroni – she’s all about massage and meditation during the treatment, so you don’t go to have a lie down and a catch-up on everything, you go there to shut your eyes and unwind [Laughs] which is a real treat.
What sort of beauty advice will you pass on to Violet as she gets older?
Oooh, this is a good one, I think, as much as you think that it’s about using the right types of products externally, I think for me it’s going to be about educating her about the importance of nourishing herself from the inside. I’m trying to educate and guide her along that formula so she sees it as a holistic internal concept, versus
“I just keep applying [makeup] over the top every day”.
