LISA MARIE’S MELTDOWN
Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of singing legend Elvis Presley, was spotted out and about grocery shopping in Los Angeles while looking a little worse for wear. The 52-year-old singer-songwriter has reportedly been struggling to cope following her 2016 split from ex-husband Michael Lockwood and the ensuing custody battle for her children, with her mental health reaching a new low.
Insiders say friends and family are concerned the mother of four – who shares 11-year-old twins Harper and Finley with Michael – is spiralling to a dark place.
“Lisa Marie is in a terrible place both physically and emotionally and it’s been this way for a long time,” an insider tells New Idea.
“Even before the divorce [from Michael Lockwood] turned toxic she was struggling, but over the past
12 or 18 months things have really skyrocketed. At this point there are some major concerns she’s dicing with death, because the combination of ill health and terrible stress levels are without question incredibly dangerous. The sad reality is that she lives her life these days in a thick, unhappy fog – and that’s breaking so many people’s hearts around her.”
Lisa’s difficult divorce from Michael has been less than amicable, with a long-running custody battle taking up much of her time and energy.
Insiders say the custody battle for her twins has already cost Lisa a huge amount of money and there appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel.
“The divorce and custody battle has cost her hundreds of thousands. She and Lockwood butt heads about everything and Lisa has made it very clear she will fight him with everything she’s got until there’s nothing left,” the source says.
“She views him as an evil and truly despicable excuse for a human being who’s tried to ruin her life – as well as their children. He’s gone in hard with his own demands and counter claims, saying she’s a druggie who’s ill-equipped to care for the twins.”
