Make MUM’S DAY...

GIVE MUM − OR YOURSELF − A DAY OF AT-HOME PAMPERING THIS MOTHER’S DAY

-

You might not be able to go out for breakfast or have a picnic lunch in the park, but you can still make Mother’s Day special this year by giving Mum – or yourself – the pampering every mum deserves in your very own at-home spa sanctuary.

These products and DIY masks will help to nourish hair and skin, leaving Mum feeling pampered and refreshed.

First, a little prep is required – after all, you want to make this as professional as possible for a truly relaxing Mother’s Day experience.

We asked Ultraceuticals Global Education Ambassador, Tracey Beeby, what masks work best for particular skin types, and directions on how to apply them. “Masks are the most perfect way we can each treat our skin at home any time of the day,” says Tracey.

She advises to start with a double cleanse to remove any stubborn dirt and makeup. Follow cleansing with an exfoliant and massage the product into the skin for up to five minutes, then leave it on the skin for another five minutes. “A total of 10 minutes of exfoliation prior to the mask application allows the mask to absorb into the skin more evenly and thoroughly,” she says.

The next step is to choose the right mask. Ultraceuticals has a choice of three, which suit all skin types and concerns – and you can even multi-mask, says Tracey.

Choose the Ultra Replenishing Mask for dry and under-nourished skin; the Energising Mask for skin that is fatigued (it’s also great for under the eyes); or the Purifying Mask if skin is in need of some deep cleansing.

“The trick is, make sure your application is mask thickness, so you don’t see skin underneath, and leave it to process for 10 minutes,” Tracey says.

Always remove a mask with a damp cloth or muslin.

Complete the at-home treatment by applying some nourishing antioxidants, moisturisers or oils.
