I’M A CELEB 2021 REVEALED!

-

The 2021 season of reality TV show I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! will have a very different structure, New Idea understands.

According to an insider, Network Ten is planning to film the series – which has taken place in the South African jungle in previous seasons

– in Australia.

“They have been looking for ways to trim the budget and now with the coronavirus issue, this will allow them to film locally and save a fortune,” the source says.

“It’s a very big crew and the stars are all flown business class.”

Due to the strict travel restrictions in place during the pandemic, it is virtually impossible for the new season to be filmed in South Africa, and the producers are scrambling to find a similarly remote location within Australia’s borders.

“The network feel there is no way they can travel to South Africa in January. It starts filming the first week of January, so they have been in negotiations with the location used for the UK version,” the insider adds.

“It’s a custom-built camp inland near the NSW and Queensland border between Gold Coast and Bryon Bay.

“The English stars got to stay at Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast before and after the camp, but with the budgets of today, it’s probably not going to be that hotel.”

New Idea has also learned the 2021 season will be an ‘All Star’ version of returning contestants, after the success of Masterchef’s similar format.

Former contestants including Richard Reid, Ash Pollard, Rhonda Burchmore and Tom Williams have reportedly all been approached for the new season.
