‘DIANA WOULD BE HEARTBROKEN’

The recent royal family turmoil looks like another nail in the coffin for the troubled relationship of Prince William and Prince Harry. After growing up as tight-knit brothers, royal author and expert, Andrew Morton, believes their late mother, Princess Diana, would have been devastated to witness their fall out.

“She would have been very sad to see the divide between her sons, especially as she said to me she saw Harry a back-up for William, in the nicest possible way,” Morton tells New Idea.

However, Morton believes Harry and Meghan may have had Diana in their corner, as she knew firsthand “about the difficulties of life inside the royal family. Diana would understand exactly how Meghan felt”.

Still, Morton remains optimistic that the brothers may one day make amends. “Maybe they need space to breathe, to work out their own direction of travel and that, in the future, they will enjoy a different kind of relationship.”
