HOW TO FROST A LAYERED CAKE

To help keep the layers together and in position for a straight-sided, perfectly assembled cake, try inserting four to six long wooden skewers into the layers. Spread frosting over the top and side of the cake with a small metal spatula. Remove the skewers and smooth frosting over the top of the cake.
