FREEING BRITNEY SPEARS!

THE TV QUEEN NOW HAS HER EYES SET ON POP ROYALTY

-

The world might be divided over the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s tell-all with talk-show veteran, Oprah Winfrey, but there’s no arguing it got people talking!

And while she was quietly enjoying her semiretirement, sources tell New Idea that the explosive interview has inspired Oprah, 67, to pursue more work – and she’s hoping her next project will include Britney Spears!

The singer, 39, has been under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie, since 2008. Despite recent legal attempts to free herself, everything from her career to her financial decisions remain under his complete control.

Her plight has become the stuff of internet legend, with the hashtag #Freebritney trending on Twitter – and it’s grabbed the attention of American TV’S most powerful woman.

“As soon as Britney is free of Jamie – Oprah has made it clear she is willing to use her considerable sway to expedite this however she can. She wants the first interview with Britney,” explains a source.

“She will use the Meghan interview to show she can tell the stories of high-profile stars in a sensitive way. It will likely be in the format of a special TV event ... this will be her way of staying in the minds of her audience.”

Meanwhile, Britney is receiving support from another unlikely source.

US Congressmen Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan recently highlighted her plight as part of a push against conservatorships in a letter to Congress last week, paving the way for the singer’s situation to be heard in the highest level of American government – and likely, eventually, bringing it to the attention of President Joe Biden.

“This feels like a turning point for Britney,” says a source. “Things feel like they’re finally looking up.”
