Adam Liaw’s FAMILY CONFESSION
As someone who travels the world regularly filming cooking shows, Adam Liaw has missed out on some pretty big moments in his kids’ lives.
But the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic saw the former Masterchef winner keep his feet firmly planted on Australian soil last year – and he couldn’t be more grateful to spend time at home.
“[My wife and I] were going over photographs of family over the years and there were birthdays I missed and things with my kids,” he tells New Idea. “But I have spent every single day with my kids for the last 18 months now, so I am very, very pleased with that.”
Adam and his wife, Asami, share three children, Christopher, 6, Anna,
4, and Benji, 1, together.
While Adam has been spending a lot more time at home, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t kept busy. He is hosting a new show, The Cook Up with Adam Liaw, in which he teams up with two celebrity guests each episode as they make delectable dishes centred on a theme.
“The interesting thing is that we have a lot of guests that aren’t chefs,” he explains. “We have people making things that they normally make or are comfortable making, so you get to see what Jimmy Barnes makes for a Tuesday night dinner.”
