come out in the ads. What you see was all purely Kadek,” she gushes.

When asked if he would ever want to reprise his role to give fans a muchanticipated update on the fictional lives of Rhonda and

Ketut in a new ad, Kadek doesn’t hesitate. “Yeah, why not! Whatever Australians ask, I’ll do,” he says.

In fact, in July last year, Kadek once again adopted his on-screen persona to reveal how Ketut and Rhonda were coping during the COVID-19 lockdowns, for a clip on AAMI’S Facebook page.

Unfortunately, his former co-star, Mandy, didn’t make an appearance, but Kadek explains that they came up with the perfect excuse.

“[AAMI] called us, because a lot of fans were asking about what the lovebirds were doing,” the actor reveals.

“They asked me if

I could pretend Rhonda was in the other room with the kids schooling at home, because of the COVID lockdowns.”

While Kadek admits that he hasn’t seen Mandy since wrapping up the final ad in 2014, he and Laura, 29, have followed her rising acting career over the past decade.

“We watched the Love Child series – she has done really well,” admits Kadek.

And as for the real happy couple, they have kept themselves busy tying the knot and welcoming two adorable children together, Mila, 8, and Lenny, 5.

Kadek – who is also father to son RJ from a previous relationship – earns a living driving heavy machinery at a quarry, and in his downtime enjoys surfing with his kids and carving intricate wooden statues.

Meanwhile,

Laura, who works for a cardiologist, is studying to become a nurse.

While a lot has happened for the family in the past decade, Kadek will always look back fondly on the Rhonda and Ketut ads.

“My favourite memory was filming the first ad. I think: ‘Geez, I was cheeky in that time.’”
