SHOCK CLAIMS: ‘BRITNEY HAS DEMENTIA!’
Britney Spears’ father has claimed his daughter has dementia, in an effort to justify his controversial conservatorship.
In a new BBC documentary, The Battle for Britney, unearthed documents show that Jamie specified “dementia” as the reason behind his request to retain ongoing control over his 39-year-old daughter’s finances, business and personal affairs.
Journalist Mobeen Azhar explains in the documentary that Jamie ticked a box on the conservatorship papers indicating that the explanation was related to “dementia placement or treatment”.
“There’s only two options with that,” Azhar said. “Britney might have dementia. Now I’m not a doctor but if that’s the case, then the world isn’t aware of that. But the other option is actually more sinister.”
Meanwhile, Britney’s loyal fans have swiftly slammed the latest dementia claims, saying that Britney would have been incapable of doing the things she’s done in her career since being under the conservatorship, including releasing multiple albums, performing global tours and having a Las Vegas residency.
Jamie’s role as his daughter’s conservator has already come under heavy scrutiny following the release of the New York Times documentary Framing
Britney Spears earlier this year. That documentary interviewed influential figures in Britney’s career as well as key people involved with the #Freebritney movement, and ultimately picked apart the controversial conservatorship arrangement.
