COURTNEY LOVE… KILLED KURT COBAIN

Music fans were stunned when Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain died by suicide in 1994 aged just 27 – to the point where some refused to accept his passing was by his own hand. Many pointed the finger at his wife, Courtney Love, claiming she had him murdered. The 2015 docudrama Soaked in Bleach even speculated that Courtney – who had hired an investigator to find Kurt when he vanished from rehab a week before he died – was somehow involved. Furious about the film,

Courtney fired off several legal letters. “The film falsely presents a widely and repeatedly debunked conspiracy theory that accuses Ms Cobain of orchestrating the death of her husband,” read one such correspondence. “A false accusation of criminal behaviour is defamatory … which entitles Ms Cobain both actual and presumed damages.”
