Baywatch actress is “not coping at all” as filming continues on the upcoming limited series,
Pam & Tommy, which sees
Downton Abbey star Lily shed her English rose image to tell the story of Pamela and her Mötley Crüe rocker husband Tommy Lee, who married 96 hours after they met, back in 1995.
The eight-episode series will also cover the release of the couple’s infamous sex tape, which is said to be the “biggest problem” of all for Pam, 53.
“She has tried to shut the door on this many times, but it just won’t go away,” explains the source, who says Pamela is seeing red over the fact the new project is dredging up her past.
Interestingly, the source insists it is “no coincidence Pamela quit social media” ahead of the film entering production earlier this year.
“She’s convinced she’s going to be humiliated all over again to a whole new generation, and she’s not coping at all. She’s pushing everyone away, even her new husband [handyman Dan Hayhurst].” Already, renewed interest in Pam’s ill-fated marriage to Tommy Lee, 58 – the father of her two sons, Dylan, 23, and Brandon, 24 – has begun to spike, and friends are worried revisiting such a tumultuous past is going to take its toll. “Tommy was, without a word of a lie, her one true love,” adds the insider. “It’s going to be heartbreaking seeing the good times brought to life, but it’s also going to be devastating to relive the horror of that tape.
“They might have stayed together on and off after this, but it was the start of the end – and she has never really gotten over that.”
In 2015, Pamela admitted she pulled out of the court case over the stolen tape, filmed during her and Tommy’s 1995 honeymoon, for the health of her unborn child.
“I was seven months pregnant with Dylan and thinking it was affecting the pregnancy with the stress and said, ‘I’m not going to court anymore. I’m not being deposed anymore by these horny, weird lawyer men,’” Pamela said, adding, “I don’t want to talk about my vagina anymore or my public sex – anything.”
