THE TV STAR’S SCANDALOUS CONFESSION CONTINUES TO HAVE AN IMPACT

Tensions have been brewing in Todd Mckenney’s family ever since he publicly revealed in 2018 that he once dated his sister Lisa’s husband, theatre star Simon Gallaher.

“[My sister] married my ex-boyfriend and is still married to my exboyfriend,” the Dancing with the Stars judge said.

The confession reportedly put an end to Lisa and Simon’s marriage. Now, three years later, New Idea hears the Gallaher clan are still dealing with the aftermath of their uncle Todd’s admission.

Lisa and Simon’s three children – daughter Gigi and sons Tyron and Saxon – have “become collateral damage”, alleges an insider, who believes the trio are now “distanced” from their father, due to Todd’s candour.

Eldest child Gigi lives in the UK, while Tyron and Saxon are now out of home living in Queensland.

“Obviously the ‘Todd and Simon’ scandal still plays a role in the family’s turmoil.

“While the kids love their father, they’re closer with their mother,” confirms the close friend.

According to the insider, as the rest of the country devoured the news that Simon had a five-year relationship with Todd during the ’80s, Lisa and Simon’s kids struggled watching their parents’ marriage crumble.

“Simon and Lisa handled the split differently in the eyes of their children,” the source explains, before continuing: “they all chose to support their mother.”

The insider adds the family “definitely never cared that Simon had been in a relationship with a man. It was more the fact that Todd chose not to keep the past a secret that sent a rift through the family.”
