SJP TO KIM ‘LET’S END THIS FEUD’
A TRAGIC FEW WEEKS HAVE SJP EXTENDING THE OLIVE BRANCH
They say nothing lasts forever – and that’s ringing true for Sarah Jessica Parker’s headline-making feud with Kim Cattrall. The pair’s spat, which reportedly started way back in 2004, was thrust again into the spotlight earlier this year when Kim opted out of the Sex and the City
reboot, And Just Like That...
But, following the recent death of their costar, Willie Garson, SJP has decided it’s time they finally bury the hatchet.
An insider tells New Idea that both SJP, 56, and Kim, 65, who reportedly clashed over pay disparities and on-set cliquishness, are heartbroken over losing Willie. His passing – along with the death of SJP’S business partner, George Malkemus, just days before – has made the star realise life’s too short for “silly arguments”.
“The grief has been devastating for Sarah and has pulled a lot of things into perspective for her, including her feud with Kim – who is also devastated and open to talking,” says a source.
“Willie always hated that they were no longer on speaking terms, and reuniting seems like an appropriate way to honour him and his lifelong ethos of putting more kindness and love into the world.”
In a touching Instagram tribute, SJP said the loss of Willie, 57, from pancreatic cancer has been “unbearable”. “I will miss everything about you,” she added.
Now, sources reveal that SJP is thinking about extending an olive branch to Kim and offering her a small cameo in the series, to honour Willie.
“Kim and Sarah are in the early stages of forgiveness,” adds the source. “But, there’s a lot of rewriting going on to cover Willie’s sudden death. So the writers have room to include Kim, if she’s willing to join up.”
