Q My husband wants his mother to move in with us, but we’ve never gotten on that well and I’m not keen on the idea. Her health hasn’t been great and I think an aged care home would be more suitable for her – particularly in the coming years. What can you see in the stars? LAURA, PIMPAMA, QLD.

A Stick to your guns, Laura. Unfortunately, I don’t see your relationship with your motherin-law improving in a significant way. I feel that you becoming her carer could place a great strain on your marriage, and that resentment will fester and build. It’s a tough one, but professional care may be the best option.

Q I’m wondering if myself and my partner should move or renovate? We’ve had plans drawn up, but something always seems to delay us. Can you see either happening by the end of summer? Even simple changes, such as new colours and furnishings, could make an amazing difference. A major move looks more likely a few years down the track – possibly around 2026. You might even consider a treechange at that point!

Q Should my grandson start school next year? His May birthday would make him one of the youngest in his school year, but he’s very active and social. My daughter is thinking of keeping him back for another year. DEBBIE, BOWRAL, NSW.

A With his Gemini sun and lively Leo Mars, your grandson is brimming over with energy and enthusiasm. I can see running around is his natural state, although this should settle from age 7 or 8. It can be a tricky decision for parents of active kids, but I lean towards one more year of preschool.
