GEORGE & AMAL’S BIG MOVE TO OZ!
QUEENSLAND IS ROLLING OUT THE RED CARPET
Since news first broke that George Clooney and Julia Roberts would be filming their new rom-com, Ticket to Paradise, in Queensland, the buzz in the Sunshine State has been electric.
Now, New Idea can reveal that George, his wife Amal and their 4-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, have made some big plans for their new life in Australia.
A well-placed insider confirms the family will fly to Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands, where they plan to stay at a lavish home on Hamilton Island – a celeb hotspot about 512km south of Cairns.
It’s believed George and Amal, who recently celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary, are eyeing off an extravagant seaside mansion, called ‘The Glasshouse’. The $7000-per-night home includes five bedrooms,
sprawling views and a 24/7 on-call house manager.
“Amal is grounded and won’t want any fuss. They’ve organised a private swimming instructor for the twins – and she will insist on doing their own cooking,” the insider shares, adding that the human rights barrister plans to visit rural Queensland while George films.
“She’s not a cocktail-sipping diva. She almost didn’t come, except the twins pleaded with their parents to join – they can’t wait to get here.”
Interestingly, the source says Amal, 43, might even be scoping out the area for a permanent base to add to their Lake Como, Italy and Berkshire, England residences. She is said to be hell-bent on ensuring her children grow up leading as much of a normal life as possible.
“This trip is a big test for the kids and George – if Amal is happy, she won’t hesitate to scoop something up in the area,” assures the insider.
