JAMIE LEE CURTIS ‘I DON’T LIKE HORROR FILMS’
DESPITE THIS, SHE’S BACK IN ANOTHER HALLOWEEN MOVIE!
Jamie Lee Curtis has certainly made a name for herself as Hollywood’s reigning scream queen. But the actress admits she actually isn’t a fan of the slasher horror genre!
“I am a pacifist. I don’t like horror films,” Jamie Lee confessed ahead of premiere of her latest film, Halloween Kills. “I don’t like anything scary. I cover my eyes and ears. I wanna have nothing to do with it. And yet … the last 10 minutes of [Halloween Kills]
are a masterpiece.”
The 12th film in the Halloween
franchise, and a sequel to the 2018 reboot, Halloween Kills
sees unstoppable killer Michael Myers escape from Laurie Strode’s trap, leaving a bloodbath in his wake. From her hospital bed, Laurie, who’s played by Jamie Lee, rallies Michael’s survivors to form a vigilante mob that will hopefully put an end to his murdering spree once and for all.
While she might not be a fan of horror films, Jamie Lee, who first played Laurie in the original 1978 Halloween film, paid homage to another famous scream queen – her mother!
Attending the costume party premiere of Halloween Kills
in Hollywood on October 13, Jamie Lee dressed up as her late mum, Janet Leigh. She wore a light blue dress and short blonde wig, and carried a blood-spattered shower curtain to embody her mother’s famous role as Marion Crane in Psycho.
“I was worried you would see this and just think I looked like a ’50s housewife,” Jamie Lee told Entertainment Tonight of the costume. “So I thought, you know, maybe I need a little bloody shower curtain.”
