JULIA’S AUSSIE HEARTACHE
HER TRIP DOWN UNDER IS MAKE OR BREAK FOR THE COUPLE
George Clooney has been joined by his wife, Amal, and their 4-year-old twins in Australia as he begins filming Ticket to Paradise, but his co-star, Julia Roberts, has pointedly arrived solo. Insiders in Tinseltown claim that, although Julia’s travels are for work, her time in Oz is doubling as a much-needed break from her home life.
The Oscar winner, 54, has been married to Hollywood cinematographer, Danny Moder, for 19 years. The pair share twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, 16, and Henry, 14.
“Danny and Julia both decided that she should go alone to Australia, at least for now,” explains a source. “They’re telling friends it wasn’t fair on the kids to drag them out of school when they’ve have only just reopened from the pandemic.”
Instead, Julia’s been joined in Australia by her entourage. On October 24, the actress and a group of her girlfriends were seen at their $57 million
mansion in Sydney’s Vaucluse, where they are completing quarantine before heading to the Ticket to Paradise set.
It seems some time apart could be helpful for Julia’s marriage, which is said to have been up and down like a roller-coaster over the past couple of years.
“You get the feeling that if they can’t sort out their thoughts with this muchneeded solo time, their relationship could be over,” tells the source, who adds Julia’s trip to Australia has come at the perfect time.
“They’ve been fighting to keep their marriage alive and it’ll do her good to get away and do some soul-searching,” the source continues.
