A DARING BREAK FOR IT
After eight years of imprisonment by her captor Wolfgang Priklopil, Natascha Kampusch managed a daring escape. Taken as a 10-year-old, Natascha was kept in a soundproof, windowless room under Priklopil’s garage. It was only in August 2006, she saw a way out. Natascha was vacuuming Priklopil’s car and he had to step away to take a call. In that time, Natascha made a run for it. Terrified, she knocked on a neighbour’s window asking for help and the police were called. Priklopil took his own life in the hours that followed. Horrifically, Natascha, now 33, is still being tortured by online trolls who she says send her hate, disgusted by the complex and traumatic relationship she developed with her captor.
