THE MANE EVENT
NEW HUES
2022 sees multidimensional shades taking centrestage, including “freshening up grownout hair with lighter, face-framing highlights as an antidote to the dull, faded colours seen in 2021”, says Australian hair stylist, Kevin Murphy. “Crème brûlée – a warmbrown base with lighter, carameltoned highlights swirled into the hair – and rich cinnamon coppers will be strong contenders for 2022.”
CHOP ‘N’ CHANGE
The last couple of years have been dominated by ultra-glam, Insta-worthy blowouts, but now “short, sharp styles are taking over”, says Kevin. Think ‘90s flicky layers, midlength crops, draped and textured fringes, messy shapes, wolf cuts and Winona Ryder crops.
