CHINESE NEW YEAR

-

Say hello to the Year of the Tiger! Last year’s ox may have slowed the pace, but as the water tiger takes control, things could move quickly. The new year is always a brilliant time to make changes and fresh starts, so here are a few feng shui tips to invite more love, luck and abundance into your home – and into your life!

1 CLEAR THE CLUTTER

In feng shui, clutter can trap us in the past, so if you’re ready to move forward, start clearing. Tackle cupboards, purge your pantry, and cast out anything that’s broken or that evokes bad memories. Donate or sell clothes that never get worn, or pack them into boxes then pass them on, unopened, next year.

2 ENERGISE THE VIBE

Launch into the Tiger Year on a fresh note by throwing open all the windows (and cleaning them!). Then to banish bad luck, burn white sage leaves or sandalwood incense in every nook and cranny. Outside, plant fragrant herbs or colourful flowers, then clean or repaint your porch and front door to invite prosperity.

3 ATTRACT GOOD FORTUNE

From February 2022, the luckiest energies will gather in your home’s north-east (most phones have a compass app). Begin with a good clean and declutter, then start beautifying. Flowers, art, crystals, oil diffusers, suncatchers, lamps, candles or bright red items should all help to attract luck and good fortune.

4 SUPPORT ROMANCE

To invite romance in 2022, try energising the south-eastern part of your home or garden. Jazz up your lighting, add romantic images, display rose quartz crystals (the stone of love) and pop in some pretty flowers, fruit trees or culinary herbs. Alternatively, a pair of ornamental ducks or birds might work like a charm!
