‘WE LOVE WORKING TOGETHER’

BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS’ LANDSCAPE GURU IS BEING JOINED BY HIS INTERIOR DESIGNER WIFE!

-

Ever since he started on Better Homes and Gardens back in 2020, landscape designer Charlie Albone quickly became a viewer favourite for his charming personality and gardening tips. And now his equally talented wife, Juliet Love, is joining the team as the resident interior designer.

“BHG is such an iconic show in Australia – people just love it. So I was delighted to be asked to do guest segments last year, and even more delighted when that turned into being a permanent cast member,” Juliet tells New Idea.

“Hopefully I can bring a fresh eye and some new ideas to the table! I’ve always been keen

on showing people how to create ‘style on a budget’, so that will be a focus.”

Juliet admits she is thrilled to be working alongside her husband, adding that there is “never a dull moment” when he is on set. But how does Charlie feel about his wife joining the show?

“I have to say, it is amazing! Anything else will get me in trouble with the boss herself,” he says with a laugh. “But in all honesty, I’m really looking forward to it.”

Of course, it will make it a bit more difficult to juggle the school drop-off for their two young sons Hartford and Leo – but they are thankful to have Juliet’s parents

on hand to help when needed.

“The children’s grandparents are very hands on and will love helping with the kids,” says Charlie. “It won’t be as easy as it is now, but it won’t be impossible – and who knows, at this rate, the kids might be joining the cast next year!”

But Juliet admits they aren’t interested in watching their mum or dad’s segments on the show.

“They really enjoy watching the show, but they’re usually more interested in what Ed [Halmagyi] is cooking or watching Dr Harry help an animal,” she says with a smile.
