Steve Martin is happily married to his second wife, Anne Stringfield, but a part of him still wonders what life might be like if Helena Bonham Carter hadn’t broken his heart.
The pair dated while making the 2000 film Novocaine, and the British actress will “always be Steve’s one who got away,” says a source.
“It took him several years to get over her. Steve openly spoke about wanting to marry her.
“Sadly for Steve, he was not Helena’s dream man, and as soon as she realised how serious he was about her, she knew she had to end it. She was super nice about it and still talks to him occasionally.”
