MAURICE & MICAH ‘RITA IS OUR HERO’

They have both been singing from “the moment they could talk”, and now father-daughter duo Maurice and Micah are set to belt it out on the stage together for The Voice Generations. While Maurice has had years of experience in the entertainment industry running his own talent school, he very much admits that when it comes to their performance, “Micah is the boss”. “I pull back to let her shine,” he jokes to New Idea, before Micah adds: “No, he can’t keep up with me.” As for which team Micah would love to be on, she says she is hoping that her musical idol Rita Ora turns her chair around for them. “I really want Rita to turn for us,” she says. “I listen to her music all the time and she is an inspiration.” While Maurice adds that he prefers “The Beatles and Michael Jackson” to Rita, he is more than happy to let Micah pick the team. “I mean, any one of them would be great, but for my kid, Rita would be amazing as she is a big superstar and I’m doing this for my Micah,” he says. “I haven’t been in the industry for a long time, but when you have a kid that wants it, you just go for it.”
