DELTA & MATT TOO MUCH PRESSURE?

THE FROSTY COUPLE WEREN’T HITTING ANY HIGH NOTES

-

Delta Goodrem’s many high-profile romances (and heartaches) have played out time and again in front of Australia over the years, which is perhaps why she’s remained intensely tightlipped about her current beau, Matthew Copley.

However, no words were needed when Delta and Matt were seen in Sydney recently. The couple – who first started dating in 2018 – appeared to butt heads on stage ahead of a massive live performance.

According to onlookers, Matt – Delta’s guitarist who resides with the singer in her $4.8 million Sydney flat – looked “nothing short of furious” during the rehearsal.

“Whatever was going on, it just didn’t seem like either of them were in a particularly good mood,” says the bystander.

The couple are set to embark on Delta’s national Bridge Over Troubled Dreams Tour shortly, unless more unexpected flash restrictions forces its postponement. After already delaying the tour a year due to the pandemic, sources say Delta could be feeling a lot of pressure right now.

While most couples avoid mixing business and pleasure,

Delta, 37, relishes collaborating with Matt, also 37, every day.

“We have a lot of love and respect for each other, and we are a great team,” the recent Order of Australia Medal recipient said during a 2020 interview. “It’s wonderful to work with him.”

That’s not to say it hasn’t always been smooth sailing.

In March 2018, just three months before the couple went public after enjoying a holiday in Hawaii, Delta made headlines by announcing she was single on a Sydney radio station. She and Matt resumed things later that year.

Since then, the singer has steered clear of discussing her private life, saying: “I made a conscious decision … I’m not somebody who wants to talk about relationships.”
