SUSTAINABLE SAVINGS TO HELP THE PLANET

3 THINGS YOU NEVER NEED TO BUY NEW AGAIN

-

A CAR

While a new, shiny car might be tempting, you can save big bucks by buying secondhand. In the first year, a vehicle can depreciate by 20 to 30 per cent. So, if you still want that ‘new car smell’ consider a pre-owned car that’s only a year old and think of the savings!

JEWELLERY

Want new earrings or a necklace? Head to the closest antique store – you may well find a bargain and it will be a unique piece. Pre-owned jewellery is even cheaper if you visit pawn shops, garage sales or op shops.

You never know, you may find a diamond in the rough!

MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

If you’re looking to take up guitar lessons or perhaps revisit piano playing from childhood days, don’t buy new. Check ebay, Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree for secondhand deals.

You can sometimes even find free pianos, as the owners want them taken away without the hassle

– all you’ll need to do is get it tuned!
