SHOCK CROC ATTACK!
ONE ROUTINE FEED AT AUSTRALIA ZOO ALMOST TURNED DEADLY
Robert Irwin is no stranger to getting up close and personal with dangerous animals. But a recent encounter with a 350kg croc has left him lucky to be alive!
Robert narrowly avoided the jaws of Casper the ‘white’ croc at Australia Zoo. In a heart-stopping clip, the 18-year-old explained how aggressive Casper recently moved to the Crocoseum enclosure.
“We need to do a bit of a test, just to make sure that he’s settling in nicely to this new enclosure,” he said.
Robert then bravely approached the water with bait. But the cranky croc appeared uninterested in the bait – and launched itself at Robert instead. “Bail,” Robert shouted as he ran from the animal. While seeing Robert follow in his father’s footsteps is heartwarming, mum Terri and sister Bindi were likely concerned following the dangerous stunt. Robert’s father, the late Steve Irwin, rescued 3.7-metre Casper from the Kimberley in WA back in 2002.
