JOHN BURGESS ON THE MEND
Game-show legend John Burgess has been inundated with messages of support after being discharged from hospital.
The 78-year-old former Wheel of Fortune host was admitted to Royal Perth Hospital earlier this month. He spent several nights in intensive care fighting off a serious bacterial infection and blood poisoning.
Outside the hospital on his way home, John assured fans he’s on the road to recovery.
“I don’t mind telling you, it’s been a bit of a fright, not just for me but my beautiful wife, Jan, who’s been fantastic,” John told reporters.
Despite the serious health scare, John, who currently hosts a radio show on Perth station 6ix, is reportedly keen to get back to work.
