Leigh Sales recently announced her surprise departure from ABC’S 7.30 after more than 11 years at the helm. But New Idea hears the accomplished journalist is already being sounded out for several other exciting opportunities – including a potential offer from Nine’s 60 Minutes.
The network’s flagship news and current affairs program has majorly stumbled in 2022. Highly touted exclusives such as interviews with Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Cleo Smith’s family have been criticised for failing to attract viewers.
Now, New Idea hears that producers hope to add more gravitas to their premiere news program
– and that Leigh, 48, would be the perfect addition, should she be willing to be lured over.
