Landing the cover of Vanity Fair is without a doubt an honour, but Nicole Kidman’s recent splash managed to leave her fans seriously divided! Some felt it was too raunchy, others didn’t like her seemingly “photoshopped” visage, and the harshest critics felt the midriff and mini-skirt combo was “all wrong” for the 54-year-old.

Thankfully, New Idea hears Nicole definitely has a fan in her husband, Keith Urban.

“Keith is having none of the criticisms and has told Nicole to ignore it all!” tells a close source, who insists “he’s mad for the cover and thinks she’s never looked hotter”.

Indeed, the cover – which is for a special Hollywood issue of Vanity Fair ahead of the Academy Awards, where Nicole could win a second Best Actress gong for Being the Ricardos – made headlines around the globe.

While insiders say Nic is trying her best to ignore the publicity, she’s said to be miffed over the criticism.

“She did 270 situps a day getting her tummy that toned!” says the source, who reveals Nicole is really proud of the portrait.
