The 10:10 Diet

LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE AND ACHIEVE LASTING RESULTS!

The start of the year is often a time when many of us set goals – and one of the most common is to get healthier and lose weight. But as the weeks go by, those plans can often fall by the wayside. If this sounds all too familiar, it may be time to rethink your approach.

Clinical nutritionist Sarah Di Lorenzo has helped thousands of Aussies to look and feel their best. Her evidence-based approach has made her one of Australia’s most in-demand nutritionists, and she’s worked with celeb clients like Monique Wright, Natalie Barr and Sally Bowrey.

Sarah is now sharing those lessons in her new bestselling book, The 10:10 Diet. “I’m very passionate about helping people in a way that’s doing a service to their health,” she says.

WHAT IS THE 10:10 DIET?

The diet got its name because followers lose an average of 10kg in 10 weeks. It works by using methods that Sarah has formulated to help her clients achieve real and lasting results.

Another bonus is that you’ll lose fat, not muscle – which also means it will be easier to keep the weight off. “I look at everything from a science and evidence-based perspective,” Sarah says. “It’s a really holistic and healthy approach to weight loss.”

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The 10:10 Diet is split into three phases. During the first four weeks, you’ll focus on

portion control and eating healthy foods that will kick off the fat-burning process.

During weeks five and six, followers do a mini detox to help them through any plateaus they might experience. “I wanted it to be a time to stop and reflect, change the pace of the program, eat healthy foods and look at alternative health and wellness,” Sarah says.

The last four weeks are about accelerated weight loss.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

While fitting into a favourite pair of jeans is a huge motivator for many of us, the benefits go much deeper. “You will have so much more energy, better sleep and develop a better relationship with the food that you’re eating,” says Sarah. “And you’re eating delicious and healthy food that’s got a lot of flavour, using things like herbs and spices.”

Another benefit is that it will reduce your risk of chronic inflammation – a condition that’s been linked to depression, cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, thyroid issues, hypertension and some cancers. “When you do my program you bring down your inflammatory markers,” Sarah explains.

WHY 10 KILOS IN 10 WEEKS?

For the best results, Sarah says it’s best to aim for no more than a kilo of weight loss a week. “Ten kilos in 10 weeks is the healthy way to lose weight because you can lose purely fat, not fluid and muscle,” she explains.

For many people, 10kg will be more than enough to help them reach their goals, but if you want to lose more weight, you can also repeat the program again after taking a breather.

“I’ve got people who have done it three times, who have had 20 to 30 kilos to lose, and they do it with huge success,” Sarah says. “Often I just suggest they have a little diet break in between.”
