FAREWELLS HUSBAND
Dame Julie Andrews has shared her heartbreak over the death of her ex-husband, Tony Walton, who passed away due to a stroke on March 2, 2022.
“He taught me to see the world with fresh eyes … I will miss him more than I can say,” Julie, 86, gushed, adding that she always “cherished his warmth and generosity”.
The Sound of Music star and Tony, an award-winning costume and set designer best known for his work on The Wiz and Pippin, met at a very young age in performance circles. They married in 1959 and had one daughter together before divorcing in 1967 – but they are reported to have remained close.
