SHANE’S LIFE SET FOR TV!

-

Shane Warne’s grieving family has only just honoured the late cricketing legend at a private memorial, but Channel Nine is already planning on brining his extraordinary life to the small screen.

Nine Entertainment Co. is said to be in the early stages of securing a production company for a miniseries that will explore the ups and downs and incredible career of the spin bowler.

Nine’s head of drama, Andy Ryan, said the network wanted to show viewers what made Shane so beloved.

“Warnie’s life was so full of drama, like the man himself,” he said. “This miniseries will be larger than life – entertaining, confronting, thought-provoking.”

The production will also explore why Warnie had such a powerful effect on cricket fans and his adoring Aussie public.

Shane suddenly died on March 4, aged 52, while holidaying in Thailand. He was farewelled in Melbourne at the St Kilda Football Club surrounded by family and friends. His parents Keith and Brigitte, brother Jason, and children Brooke, Jackson and Summer were among the 80 or so guests in attendance.

A ticketed public memorial event will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on March 30.
