‘OUR BRAVE BRUCE’
DEMI AND FAMILY HAVE COME TOGETHER IN THE ACTOR’S TIME OF NEED
Bruce Willis is one of Hollywood’s most revered stars, but a shock announcement from his family has revealed the 67-year-old is retiring. The statement explained the Die Hard actor has been diagnosed with aphasia – a language disorder that affects a person’s ability to communicate.
“Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” Bruce’s family wrote in an Instagram post last week.
“As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”
Bruce’s family uploaded the statement on their respective Instagram accounts, which was signed by his current wife Emma Heming, exwife Demi Moore, and his five daughters Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel and Evelyn.
“We are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support,” the family added. “We are moving through this as a strong family unit … as Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”
News of Bruce’s diagnosis saw an outpouring of support for the actor from fans and his Hollywood peers alike. Jamie Lee Curtis and Rita Wilson were among those sharing their love for Bruce.
