IT’S PRINCE CHARMING!
THE FUTURE KING WAS CLEARLY SMITTEN BY QUEEN LETIZIA OF SPAIN
Prince Charles isn’t having the easiest time lately, but he’s getting by with a little help from his royal friends.
The future king was “immensely cheered” by a reunion with his old pal, Queen Letizia of Spain, at Auckland Castle last week. In fact, Charles ripped up his usually formal royal rule book by greeting her with warm kisses on her cheek and hands!
“Charles and Letizia go back a long way and became close when she married King
Felipe of Spain in 2004,” says a source. “Charles always enjoyed a friendship with Felipe, and he gets along with Letizia especially well.
“Of course, it helps that she’s beautiful!”
Charles, 73, and Letizia, 49, jointly attended a new exhibition of Spanish art by Francisco de Zurbarán at the historical property in England’s north – but this wasn’t the only time they’ve spent together recently.
Letizia joined a handful of fellow European royals to attend a recent thanksgiving service in honour of the one-year anniversary of Prince Philip’s passing.
“They spent some time together behind closed doors after the service, where Charles made it clear he was so grateful for her support,” says the insider.
“Charles and Letizia have a lot in common, including an appreciation for fine art and the great outdoors.
“He was overheard inviting Letizia to visit Highgrove to show her how he runs the eco-friendly estate. I’m sure Felipe was invited, too!”
