‘THE DAY I CONFRONTED BRENDAN & LARA’

Brendan Fevola and his wife, Alex, have always been candid about their relationship struggles. Now, Alex has opened up for the first time about the painful period when she discovered the former AFL player was having an affair with Lara Worthington (née Bingle).

In her new autobiography, Silver Linings, Alex, 45, explains that she realised Fev was cheating with the “young blonde model” following a gut instinct. “I don’t know how I knew, I just did,” Alex writes.

Alex and Brendan married in 2005, divorced in 2014 and then rekindled their relationship shortly afterwards. In 2018 they welcomed fourth daughter, Tobi. But back in 2006, Alex and Brendan separated briefly after the former Carlton football player’s affair with Lara was outed.

At the time, Brendan, then 26, met the 19-year-old model on the set of

The Footy Show and they subsequently spent time together on several occasions.

In her book, Alex reveals she called and confronted Lara after discovering a voicemail on Brendan’s phone. “I said, ‘It’s Alex Fevola, Brendan’s wife. Why are you doing this?’ She was silent,” Alex recalled. “I asked again, ‘How could you do this? You know he’s married and we’ve just had a baby.’ There was a pause and then she hung up.”

In a 2009 interview, Lara said she was unaware of Brendan’s marital status.

Lara insisted she didn’t know Fev was married.
