DELIGHTED LOCALS GIVE THE ROYAL A WARM WELCOME

Princess Anne’s reputation as the hardest-working royal was on full display during her flying visit to our shores. Hours after arriving, the 71-year-old formally opened the 200th Sydney Royal Easter Show. Joined by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, Anne also paid a heartfelt visit to the NSW Rural Fire Service headquarters. There, she spoke to the families of the volunteer firefighters who were among 34 people killed in the Black Summer bushfires.

Anne’s three-day trip was the first royal visit to Australia since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2018 tour.

The Princess Royal examined the fruit and vegetables grown by hardworking farmers.

Anne inspected the cows at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
