Departing Sunrise executive producer Michael Pell has dropped a bombshell revelation about the real reason former host Samantha Armytage walked away from the morning show. Prior to her exit in March 2021, Sam insisted a yearning to live in the country with new husband Richard Lavender had largely driven her decision. “I realised you do not find the happy life, you make it,” Sam, 45, said at the time. But on the eve of his US move, Michael says he feels Sam quit because she struggled with “the idea of being in the limelight”. “She did really well in a field that maybe she never really wanted to go into. In some ways she’s the anti-tv presenter,” he said.
