7.30 ANNOUNCES NEW HOST!
Leigh Sales’ 7.30 successor has finally been announced, with esteemed reporter Sarah Ferguson landing the high-profile gig. Viewers will likely recall that Sarah, 56, previously hosted the ABC’S flagship current affairs show while Leigh was on maternity leave in 2014. The decision comes after months of speculation over who would replace Leigh, 48, after she announced her departure following almost 12 years of helming 7.30.
Before Sarah signed on, Insiders host David Speers and ABC’S chief political correspondent Laura Tingle were touted as potential hosts. Waleed Aly’s name was also thrown about, until he confirmed he was staying at The Project.
