THE AUSSIE TRIP MEGHAN LOATHED!

A SHOCK ILLNESS HAS LEFT HER UNABLE TO PERFORM

-

Meghan Markle found her royal tour to Australia “pointless”, according to a critical new report written by royal writer, Tina Brown.

In her upcoming royal biography, The Palace Papers, Tina reveals that a former staffer said Meghan “hated every second” of the 16-day tour – despite the warm reception the Sussexes received at every stop.

“Instead of being excited when thousands of people showed up at the [Sydney] Opera House, it was very much like, ‘What’s the purpose? I don’t understand this,’” a palace employee told Tina, a former Vanity Fair editor and diarist for Princess Diana.

The new claims support a previous report in The Times that alleged Meghan just “didn’t get it” when excited Australians came out in droves to see the Sussexes in Sydney.

“What are they all doing here? It’s silly,” Meghan reportedly said to her team.

Meghan was in the early stages of her first pregnancy during the trip Down Under, and revealed the news just hours after she and Harry touched down in Oz.

Tina goes on to claim in the new book that Meghan did however interpret their tour popularity as a sign of the unrecognised importance of ‘Brand Sussex’, which resulted in her push for them “to be elevated in the palace hierarchy”.

Celine Dion’s recent mysterious bout of ill health took another turn for the worse last week, after the singer revealed she’s been forced to postpone and cancel a string of European concert dates.

The 54-year-old has been suffering muscle spasms for months, but insiders tell New Idea her sons, René-charles, 21, and 11-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson, are worried there’s “much more to it than that”.

“Their mum hasn’t been the same since their dad [René Angélil] died six years ago,” says a source. “At first she went through a stage of working all hours of the day and night, and partying with her friends while on tour as a way to distract herself from her pain, but lately the kids have noticed she’s always tired and seems burnt out. She doesn’t like to worry the boys, they’ve already been through so much in losing their father, and she’s desperate to get herself back on track for them.”

Eldest son René-charles takes his role as man of the house very seriously and is keeping a close eye on his mum.

“If he had his way, Celine would retire from touring altogether. She’s built an incredible life for her boys, and he doesn’t understand why she keeps pushing herself.”

Last week, Celine spoke of her great sorrow to be cancelling on her fans.

“First we had to move the shows because of the pandemic, now this is my health issues that is causing us to postpone … and unfortunately cancel some, too,” she said, adding that recovering from her muscle spasms was “going very slow”.

“I’m getting treatment from my doctors, taking medication … It’s taking a lot longer for me to recover than I hoped.”
