Bad news, Modern Family fans! Shortly after the beloved sitcom ended in 2020, it was revealed that a spin-off series was in development, and that it would follow Mitch and Cam’s family life in Missouri with their daughter, Lily. However, star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who played Mitch opposite Eric Stonestreet’s Cam, just confirmed the anticipated show has now been canned.

“There were discussions,” Jesse admitted in a recent interview, “[but] I think the network decided against it.” What a shame!
