PAINT perfection
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN GET CREATIVE USING A SAMPLE POT OF PAINT!
GO SPOTTY OVER POLKA DOTS
Add some fun to your home by stamping polka dot designs onto your little ones’ furniture or bedroom walls.
YOU’LL NEED:
• Old sponges
• Scissors
• Marker
• Throwaway plates
• Multiple colours of British Paints
sample pots
INSTRUCTIONS:
To create your ‘stamps’, trace circles using the marker around different-sized glasses onto your sponges. Then, cut the sponges carefully using scissors.
Clean the surface you want to paint using water and sugar soap. Once done, pour your sample pot colours onto the paper plates.
Dip your sponge into the paint and have a play with twisting it around to prepare for stamping onto the wall.
When stamping the sponge onto your wall or furniture, twist it slightly to get flawless, smooth coverage. Keep switching between ‘stamp’ sizes, colours and patterns for the best results.
STENCILLED PATTERNS
Paint patterns on your child’s dresser doors, tables or chair backs to give them an inexpensive facelift using stencils.
YOU’LL NEED:
• Painter’s tape
• Sandpaper
• Stencils
• Different-sized brushes or rollers • British Paints sample pot
INSTRUCTIONS:
Start by taping off the areas you don’t want paint getting on. Then, sand the surfaces you want to paint.
Lay stencils of the chosen design over the area you wish to paint.
Start painting – if painting several layers, let the base layer dry completely before painting patterns on top. What you’re left with is a cheerful reimagination of old furniture.
