AFTERPARTY DRAMA!

-

The auctioneer’s hammer has fallen, but don’t assume the bang of the gavel also put a stop to the drama between this year’s Blockheads.

Indeed, after three months of blood, sweat, tears and many sleepless nights, The Block has now wrapped for another year. And as the dust settles from the eventful auction day, sources reveal “it all kicked off” between the contestants one last time during some post-finale celebrations.

“Emotions were running high, understandably,” dishes a well-placed source.

Causing the tension, or at least some of it, is said to be the widespread rumours that Tom and Sarah-jane are “in negotiations” to have their own design show.

“No doubt this isn’t sitting well with some of the other teams,” says the insider.

“Many of them already thought SJ and Tom were being favoured by the judges and producers from day dot, so the fact they’re potentially getting their own spin-off pretty much proves this.

“No wonder there were fireworks,” the spy continues, adding voices were well and truly raised.

It’s no secret that the judges were blown away by Tom and Sarah-jane’s skills and design sense. In their weekly room-reveal feedback for House 1, judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Neale Whitaker repeatedly told the Melbourne-based couple that they should be doing this professionally.

On top of the rumoured spin-off, fans are also placing bets that Tom, a plumber by trade, will be returning to The Block next year to join Foreman Keith and Dan’s team.

“Only time will tell if that happens, but again, it’s very plausible since they got on so well,” says the source. “It’s safe to say everyone is just glad the show is over.

“Only a few of them will stay in touch.”
