NEW WITNESS in missing campers murder ‘Please tell us where she is’

NEW INFORMATION ABOUT RUSSELL AND CAROL’S DEATHS WERE RECENTLY REVEALED CHRIS DAWSON’S DAUGHTER HAS BEGGED HIM TO REVEAL THE LOCATION OF HER MOTHER’S BODY

It’s been almost one year since the badly burnt remains of campers Carol Clay, 73, and Russell Hill, 74 were discovered by Victoria Police Missing Persons Squad on November 30, 2021.

The discovery came just days after the apprehension of 55-year-old former pilot Gregory Lynn.

The Melbourne man was arrested and charged in February with their murders.

It can now be revealed that last week the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court heard a ballistics expert would play a crucial role in the alleged killer’s upcoming preliminary hearing, which is scheduled to run over four days in January.

The elderly couple, holidaying in secret, were allegedly shot before their bodies were burnt and dumped in bush graves. It is the first time any information on how police allege Lynn killed the campers has been shared in public.

High-profile criminal barrister Dermot Dann KC is set to defend Lynn – who has pleaded not guilty – in the Supreme Court of Victoria murder trial late next year. Mr Dann said he was eager to cross examine ballistics expert, Paul Griffiths.

“Mr Griffiths is an important witness dealing with the bullet trajectory and so forth,” he said.

The court heard Victorian homicide detectives have compiled a massive 773page brief of evidence against the jailed Lynn, including transcripts of secret recordings captured by detectives.

The bodies of his alleged victims had been dumped in dense bushland off the Providence Spur Track, north of Dargo in Victoria’s east, and had remained there for 20 months.

Lynn will front court to face a preliminary hearing next year. He could spend life behind bars if convicted of the murders.

Tears flowed in the NSW Supreme Court as Shanelle Dawson bravely shared her victim impact statement following the death of her mother at the hands of her father, Christopher Dawson.

“There are not enough words in the English language to describe the impact of 41 years of deceit, trauma, silence and gaslighting,” Shanelle, 45, said as she locked eyes with her dad across the room.

Wearing a green prison jumpsuit and flanked by two sheriff officers, her father, who was found guilty of the murder of his wife Lynette in August, kept his head bowed for most of the reading.

“Because of your selfish actions, we will never see her again, we will never hear her tell us she loves us.

“I’ve lost not only my adoring, kind, wonderful and beautiful mother, but I’ve lost my father too.

“I’ve lost a sense of protection you were supposed to provide.”

Just 4 years old when Lynette vanished, Shanelle’s emotional impact statement shared how the loss of her mother left a “massive, gaping hole” in her world.

“Why didn’t you just divorce her, let those who love and needed her, keep her?” she asked.

Shanelle told the court how her father had made her mother “invisible”, rarely speaking of her.

“Please tell us where she is,” she pleaded.

“You had no right, you are not God.”

Dawson will front the court again on December 2 for sentencing where a judge will determine how many years he will face in prison for his crimes.
