Christina’s BRAVE FIGHT

AFTER BEING DIAGNOSED WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, IT WAS A DAY OF JOY FOR THE STAR

-

There was barely a dry eye when Christina Applegate rose to say a few words after receiving her much-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“This day means more to me than you could imagine,” Christina said in a heartfelt speech during the event.

“I don’t say I have friends. I have family. These people take care of me every day of my life, and without them I don’t know what I would do.”

Her former Married…

With Children co-stars Katey Sagal and David Faustino were there to lend a hand, with her on-screen mum helping maintain her balance as Christina made her way around with the aid of a walking stick.

“You bend but don’t break,” Katey said.

“Your humility and irreverence allows all of us to bend with you.”

It’s been a challenging journey for the actress who rose to fame on the iconic ’90s comedy series.

After a battle with breast cancer and a double mastectomy in 2008, the Emmy winner shared late last year that she’d been diagnosed with the autoimmune disease multiple sclerosis.

Through it all, Christina’s continued positivity, brave spirit and frankness has earned her the affections of many, including some of her co-stars that turned out for the event in Los Angeles.

“Christina is a beautiful person, inside and out,” praised Linda Cardellini, who appears with Christina in the dark comedy Dead to Me, which has just premiered its third and final season on Netflix. “[She’s] a friend for life.”

Ending her speech with a wisecrack about not wearing shoes, it was clear that Christina – who turns

50 this week – has plenty of life in her yet.

“It’s been a tough road,” she tweeted when announcing her diagnosis.

“But as we all know, the road keeps going,” she added, reaffirming her commitment to fight on despite the debilitating disease.
